Album

Tiny Dynamine is an EP by Scottish alternative rock band Cocteau Twins, released on 4AD Records. The EP featured four non-album tracks. It was issued on 15 November 1985, two weeks prior to another EP, Echoes in a Shallow Bay. The two EP sets, which featured complementary artwork, were also released as a combined double EP in a gatefold cover and as an eight-track CD. The EP was reissued in 1991 as part of The Box Set and in 2005 as part of the singlesEP collection Lullabies to Violaine. Echoes in a Shallow Bay was re-released in November, 1985 on a combined disc and audio cassette with Tiny Dynamine under 4AD catalog designation CAD 510511. Peaked at 65 on the UK album chart. Re-released in 1991 as part of EPs and Singles Box Set. A remastered version of Pale Clouded White appears on the 2000 collection Stars and Topsoil. Digitally remastered and re-released in 2005 as part of Lullabies to Violaine. Pale Clouded White has appeared in live performances. Listen and buy online. Online shops. 4 A D. Originally, Tiny Dynamine and Echoes in a Shallow Bay were released as a pair of EPs in similar covers within a few months of each other in 1985 the songs were actually recorded during the same sessions, but the band wished to release them without the hoopla of a full album. This was probably a wise decision, as listening to the two EPs together on one CD, it's clear that these eight songs are a step down in quality from the inspired heights of Head Over Heels and Treasure. The Echoes in a Shallow Bay EP shows the Cocteau Twins experimenting. The first track is Great Spangled Fritillary One of the most remarkable songs the band has ever released, it begins with Liz Fraser intoning the same few lines again and again as the guitar slowly builds in the background. In the end, her vocals explode in a climactic series of wails. Melonella is four minutes of Liz Fraser singing the Latin names of butterflies, hesperiidae, papilionidae. A random collection of entomological names becomes a one of the most beautiful of this. There's not much difference in.
